What does the AK in AK Anorak stand for?
The AK stands for Alaska. The need for the anoraks came
about as a result of my summer trips to Alaska, the biggest and
best state in The Union (sorry Texas).
May I pay by check or money order?
Yes. If you pay by check there will be a a hold of five
business days on your order while the check clears. If you

Why is one jacket treated with Teflon and the other with
paraffin, and is one better than the other?
There are a number of answers to this question. The
original anorak was the Teflon green mosquito anorak, but the
public also wanted a light colored anorak to choose from.
Teflon does not take well to light colored fabric so the
paraffin coating was used.
As for one being better than the other, that is a matter of
your personal requirements. The Teflon treatment allows
the fabric to be lighter, supple to the touch, and more
breathable compared to the paraffin treatment, but slightly less
water resistant. The paraffin treated anoraks are more
water resistant, cooler in direct sunlight, but a few ounces
heavier and stiffer when first worn. Both anoraks are cut
using the same pattern.
Why aren't the anoraks made using Gortex or one of the
other nylon based fabrics?
When you are enjoying the outdoors it is important that your
clothing not make any noise, nylon based fabrics are not capable
of this feature. Silence is golden for bird watching,
wildlife photography, fishing, and hunting.
What type of liner is in the anorak?
Anoraks do not have liners, they are light weight jackets
which are meant to be worn as an outer layer of clothing.
Anoraks are useful all year round, your under layer of clothing
changes with the seasons.
Why the free matching cap?
Sorry, we are out of the matching caps. Wearing a peaked cap while the mosquito net is deployed
enhances peripheral vision.
